Brandon West is a native of western North Carolina, where he grew up on a small family farm. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University. Early in his career he determined that he could make the most impact on individual clients at a small firm in a rural community. Since becoming a partner at Bennett & West, PLLC in 2006, Brandon has adopted the local community as his own and his practice has evolved across a number of legal fields in order to meet the needs of the people with whom he has established an attorney/client relationship.

Brandon now focuses his practice on family law and general civil litigation, and he has more than fifteen years of litigation experience. He advises clients on a range of domestic matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, alimony, and adoption. He also has extensive experience with settlement and litigation of claims related to personal injury, property damage and breach of contract. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, and a former President of the District 17B Bar Association. He has also served as a board member for multiple local non-profit organizations.

Brandon’s straightforward, confident attitude in the courtroom has established his reputation as a fierce defender of his clients’ rights. His candid, honest, and pragmatic approach is both appreciated and sought-after by potential clients.

A former Division I fencing athlete, Brandon still enjoys competitive sports, whether it's combat sports or rooting for the Tarheels. He resides in Tobaccoville with his wife and daughter.
